About  Us

Most co-ops are formed to supply members with goods and services, i.e.  feed fertilizer, farm supplies or utilities.  These were formed by groups to cut cost of commodities by buying in bulk.

TLC is the opposite.  We are coming together as a large group representing one breed, the Longhorn.  This breed is remarkable in ways to make a profit.  With other cattle, the main commodity is beef.  Longhorn has beef, and hides, and horns, and skulls, and even head mounts.  Plus, the benefits of Longhorn beef far outweigh that of other cattle breeds.  Longhorn is low cholesterol, low fat and also has few calories.  The big beef processors (Tyson, I. B. P., EXCEL) have known these qualities for quite some time.  By having your cattle go straight from your pasture to the supermarket shelf, you are cutting out the middle man.  By having a large groups of breeders come together we can supply a growing demand for a healthy protein source and after your meat is sold you still have hides, horns, etc. to make an additional profit.

Do you think we have a good product? TLC knows there is a market for our longhorns.  And unlike other beef breeds, it has much more to offer the general public than what the fat cattle producer believes.

We at TLC are taking a new approach to delivering beef to the store shelves.  With this approach we can double or even triple the income on cattle versus taking cattle to the sale barn for 25-33% of what they are worth.

TLC is…

1.                  a not-for-profit – we are here to make the members money and promote the longhorn breed

2.                  We handle the slaughter, wholesale sale and retail sale of meat, hides and horns.

3.                  We make it easy to deliver cattle to slaughter by dropping off at a TLC facility at any time.

4.                  Giving you a larger profit for your cattle – we are longhorn breeders, we want the same thing you want.
